Hi I’m Katherine,

If you are here, you are likely seeking some kind of change.

Whether it be the need to improve a relationship, work through a current crisis, explore past wounds, or address your anxiety once and for all, reaching out is a courageous first step and I am sincerely glad you are here.

Here is some information about me:

I have always held a desire to understand and encourage others. This interest was affirmed when I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Psychology.  Shortly thereafter, I received my Master’s in Counseling from the College of Professional and Graduate Studies at the Citadel, in Charleston, SC. Since then, I have worked in various settings, including the school system, child advocacy centers providing forensic interviews, group practices, and now for over 15 years, private practice.

Although I believe an excellent and ongoing education is paramount to successful counseling, I also see life experience as an essential component to offer others. As a mother of three children (who are much too quickly hitting “adult status”, and married to my spouse for over 20 years), life experience is certainly an area I am familiar with.

One of the many areas I have personally had to humble myself along the way with has been my own need to “get it all done”,  unfortunately, at the expense of taking care of myself.  Since then, I have been on a journey recognizing where to simplify and how to incorporate balance throughout the various life seasons.

I am a certified Spiritual Director, trained with Sustainable Faith and am currently participating in a third year Pilot program to further enhance my practice.

I find great joy in passing along what I have found helpful and I look forward to hearing from you!
